Exploring Blogs

We are learning to create a positive digital footprint.

We often share personal information when we are online. The people we share with could be our friends and family or people we don't know. We need to make smart decisions about what personal information we share online.

Cross Country

Yesterday, we had cross country. I was so puffed when I was finished that I fell down onto the grass and reached for my drink bottle. I ran 3.1 kilometres. 3 laps of our big field, 2 laps of the domain and another 2 laps of our big field. Plus running to the domain and back. It doesn't sound that hard but it is, when we practised, I found it even really hard to do 3 laps of the field... Let alone another 2 laps and 2 laps of the HUGE DOMAIN! I was proud of my place (1st). My friend Grace came 2nd with me and Bree came 3rd. Here is a picture to let you know that I was dying.

Practise Practise and Practise.

On Wednesday and Thursday, The whole class did cross country practise. On Wednesday, after my practise, I felt like I was going to faint because I tried to sprint the whole way. But on thursday I paced myself and I felt much better. I can't wait to do the real cross country which is on Monday. I have to remember to pace myself!

The spaghetti challenge!

On Tuesday, We did the spaghetti challenge. If you haven't heard of it then here's what it is. You get 10 marshmallows and 30-50 pieces of spaghetti then you get an egg. The challenge is to build the tallest tower with the equipment you have and balance the egg on top of it for at least 30 seconds. It's harder than you think! Have a go and comment on this post to tell me how it went and if you managed to complete the challenge, My team and I didn't manage to😂.

The class of monkeys.

On Monday, We went to the Groynes to do some fun activities. First we played the name game. How you play: You get into a small circle with a group. Then you get someone to say their name and something about themselves. When the whole group has done that then you start again. Only this time you get the whole group to take a step backward and then say their name and something different about themselves. But this time you get them to do it louder. Keep doing this until the group gets as loud as possible. That was one of my favourite games.

Second we did a communication game. That was my favourite game. You get into three lines of three. All the people in the line have to be facing the same way but the front line faces the other lines. The third line has to be blindfolded. The second line has to be facing the front line. What the front line has to do is mime to the second line what they want the third line to do. So the second line had to figure out what the first line is miming. Once the second line has figured out what the first line is miming, then they have to yell it out to the third line. For example, "Take two steps forward, now pick up the object in front of you!" Now the third line has to obey the orders of the second line. Once the third line does what the first line mimed to the second line then the game is over.

Pretty much after that then we went onto high ropes. That was my favourite activity of all. I got to the top on both courses. We were named the class of monkeys.

Trapped at school... Or No school at all!

On Thursday, I got to school and my best friend (Grace http://gracestotarablog.blogspot.co.nz/ ) Ran out of the classroom door and she said "Powers out!". We were all so excited until we went into the office and they announced that school was closed. So one minute we were so excited and then the next we were panicking Because school was cancelled. "Our mums are at work!" We couldn't stop repeating. Now all the office people were running around the school announcing who picks up who and who who needs to wait to be picked up. My mum picked me up and dropped me off at my aunty's. Who knows what Grace did.
