In class, we have been working on something called the 100 word challenge, It is where we have to write a story that has exactly 100 words in it. We are doing this because it helps us improve our vocabulary. This week my story is called 'the stairway to the sky'
Hope you enjoy,
The stairway to the sky
I was lost in the forest and then suddenly I saw a very bright light. I walked towards the bright light and when I came closer then I saw a golden staircase and It led up to the sky so I started to walk up...
When the staircase ended, I figured I was in the sky. It was so bright It took me about five minutes to get used to the brightness. I walked around and I saw a very big lion with a bright shiny golden main. Then there was a dark tunnel I decided to go through it.
Then on the spreadsheet, you put an * beside the class sheet at the bottom, make sure the * is at the start of Classof2019.

Top ten ways to look After a Chromebook
Last term we had to make a movie about how to look after your chromebook. We need to look after our chromebooks because most of the work we do is on chromebooks so we don't want to break them. I like to use ReadWrite to read out my writing that I've done. I like the site Night Zookeeper because it's creative and it encourages me to write more. Enjoy the video!

Is the story True or False?
On monday,
We had to write a school holiday report,
And I wrote this:
The Hill
I had sore knees. I had just fell off a really steep hill. My knees were bruised. I was in so much pain. I had tears rolling down my cheeks. I had to go home early. I was at a friend’s house and she has this really steep hill that she likes to run down. So we had a competition. The competition was, ‘who can run down the hill the fastest?’ I was winning until…
The problem was that I was going too fast. So I fell and started to roll down the hill. I was going so fast that I was going to be sick. I heard my friend calling out to me, “do you need help?” “Yes!” I replied. But by the time I had said that, I was very close to the ground.
Then I hit the ground. I felt dizzy, and sick. My mum took me home. I was really lucky that my brother wasn’t with me. If he was, then he would have been so annoying! Once I arrived home, I sat down on the couch and watched T.V. When my brother returned home, I didn’t tell him anything.
But he saw the bruises on my knees, and he asked, “what happened to your knees?” “Nothing!” I yelled. If I did tell him, then he would of started being annoying. Mum did’nt know that I was hiding it from my brother, so she told him. And that’s when it started.
What do you think? Is it true or false?

Van Gogh's Starry Night Painting.
Over the past six weeks, we have been learning about van Gogh's painting called ‘A Starry Night’. We cut up his painting into 6 pieces and we chose a piece each. It was only the Year sixes. I painted a bit with stars and a moon at night. We used van Gogh’s techniques like using small swirly strokes to make the sky look windy and swirly. I chose a medium sized brush to make my painting look like his. The painting was a picture of a nighttime sky with a little village and a big black curvy mountain. I used a sponge brush to use the night sky then the swirly bits on top. I had lots of fun doing MY unique painting. :-) We used SOLO to describe our thinking. My thinking is Multistructural because I can describe several things about van Gogh’s painting skills. My next step is to describe several things about van Gogh paintings and explain why I used this skill in this way.

Maths with friends.
A few weeks ago,
I did a times table puzzle with
Bree and Evie. It was based on the three times tables,
we completed it in 10 minutes, and enjoyed doing it together.

Camp Recount.
Camp Recount.
I got to camp feeling excited.
I read the sign “Hanmer Forest Camp” I saw my cabin. My mood dropped as I saw it. Then I looked at the other side of the camp. And my mood got worse. The other school got the flash cabin and we got the scody ones. But I tried to keep my mind on the positive things like “We are going in the hot pools tonight”, and other exciting things.
We got out of the car and went on the big field. There was a tree outline guarding the field. Nearly everyone went into the tree/forest Including me. “Dead Body, Dead Body!” Everyone was screaming. I got freaked out.
I didn’t believe that there was a dead body though. After a few hours we did some activities. Our group did hiking. Later on we went in the hot pools. I loved the hot pools, We got to go on the hydroslide. I was so happy, I went on the super bowl, The hydroslide, And the black hole.
I hated the food provided for me. I know I sound a little ungrateful but it was the WORST food I had ever had in my life. As for other people, they loved it. But everyone who was at my table didn't like it so I wasn't the only one.
