The Amazing Race

Rimu Are doing something called the 'Amazing Race' The Amazing race is where whenever you read a book you move a different country then when you move to a different country, then you have to find out a fact about the country you moved to. right now, I am at the starting line because I haven't fully read a chapter book yet.The book I am reading right now, is called 'Matilda'. 100 word challenge

In class, we have been working on something called the 100 word challenge, It is where we have to write a story that has exactly 100 words in it. We are doing this because it helps us improve our vocabulary. This week my story is called 'the stairway to the sky'

The stairway to the sky
I was lost in the forest and then suddenly I saw a very bright light. I walked towards the bright light and when I came closer then I saw a golden staircase and It led up to the sky so I started to walk up...
When the staircase ended, I figured I was in the sky. It was so bright It took me about five minutes to get used to the brightness. I walked around and I saw a very big lion with a bright shiny golden main. Then there was a dark tunnel I decided to go through it.

As the flame flickered and then went out, I Jumped into my bed. My eyes started drifting to sleep, I heard a knock at the front door. "Mum!" I yelled. She came into my room, and asked me what I called for. I told her what I had heard. She went to the front door then opened it, "nothing is there, go back to sleep!" 100 Word Challenge week two

This week I did the 100 word challenge. I had to write exactly 100 words. This time, We could write about whatever we want, but we have to use five specific words. The words are: Silence, Thunder, Pyjamas, Orange and Swam. I have put the words bold so you can see them.

I was watching t.v, I had just swam 4km.
I had to put up with the brutal sounds of thunder. It was so loud, but I eventually fell asleep...

ANZAC reading activities

The past 3 weeks I have been working on ANZAC activities. I had to do poetry and I did my own 'Jack and Tom' animation. I also wrote my own poem. I learn about the nurses in the war and thought they travelled a lot. I found it difficult trying to think what to say in my poem. Please have a read and I hope you enjoy my work!

This is my timetable for this term and for next week. This term's goal is to self manage and run our own timetable. This links in with our school value this term of Enthusiastic Learners. Top ten ways to look After a Chromebook

Last term we had to make a movie about how to look after your chromebook. We need to look after our chromebooks because most of the work we do is on chromebooks so we don't want to break them. I like to use ReadWrite to read out my writing that I've done. I like the site Night Zookeeper because it's creative and it encourages me to write more. Enjoy the video!

And I wrote this:

The Hill

I had sore knees.  I had just fell off a really steep hill.  My knees were bruised.  I was in so much pain. I had tears rolling down my cheeks. I had to go home early. I was at a friend’s house and she has this really steep hill that she likes to run down. So we had a competition. The competition was, ‘who can run down the hill the fastest?’ I was winning until…

The problem was that I was going too fast. So I fell and started to roll down the hill. I was going so fast that I was going to be sick. I heard my friend calling out to me, “do you need help?” “Yes!” I replied. But by the time I had  said that, I was very close to the ground.

Then I hit the ground. I felt dizzy, and sick. My mum took me home. I was really lucky that my brother wasn’t with me. If he was, then he would have been so annoying! Once I arrived home, I sat down on the couch and watched T.V. When my brother returned home, I didn’t tell him anything.

But he saw the bruises on my knees, and he asked, “what happened to your knees?” “Nothing!” I yelled. If I did tell him, then he would of started being annoying. Mum did’nt know that I was hiding it from my brother, so she told him. And that’s when it started.
